Slightly bigger, more powerful and with additional battery capacity over its little brother (Fenix HM50R V2.0) Fenix HM53R also adds a magnetic tail cap and an additional brightness level in both red and white light modes.
Fenix HM53R rechargeable multi-use head lamp is an ideal all rounder. Take it camping, hiking, fishing, running, dog walking or use it in the workplace. It's so light to wear, weighing in at just 102 grams that you could almost forget you're wearing it but for the impressive 1200 lumen max output. A handy secondary red light delivers outputs of 3 and 30 lumens, ideal for protecting your night vison.
The headlamp charges via a built-in USB-C socket in just 2.5 hours, and features a breathable reflective headband for comfort and safety.
HM53R can be removed from the headband to be used as a hand held right angle torch, attached with the included pocket clip, or mounted with the magnetic tail cap for complete versatility.
It is compact, tough, waterproof, impact resistant and reliable in cold conditions. The supplied 18350 rechargeable lithium battery can be swapped out for CR123A non rechargeable lithium battery if required.
Outputs levels are tuned to offer the maximum run time, so the higher brightness levels will automatically reduce to a lower level in order to achieve this. The headlamp features a mode memory to recall your last used setting. A battery level indicator is also built - in to keep you updated on the remaining power.
Battery level indication:
With the headlamp switched Off, single click the switch to display the battery level for 3 seconds: (Only works with the supplied L18-1600 battery)
- Green constant On: more than 80%
- Green flashes: 50% - 80%
- Red constant On: 20% - 50%
- Red flashes: less than 20%
Charging:
Open the anti dust cap (located at the back of the light) and plug the USB-C cable into the charging port of the headlamp. The indicator will display red while charging and will turn green when fully charged . Once charging is completed, be sure to remove the charging cable and replace the anti dust cap. With the lamp turned off, the normal charging time of the included Fenix ARB-L18-1600 battery is approximately 2.5 hours from depleted to fully charged with a 5 V/1 A charging adaptor (not included).

*18350 Li-ion batteries are powerful cells designed for commercial applications and must be treated with caution and handled with care. Using low-quality batteries or mishandling batteries (such as short-circuiting or overheating) could lead to combustion and jeopardize the safety of users and property. Any adverse effects resulting from the use of low-quality batteries are not covered by any Fenix warranty or liability. Using quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion.
*CR123A batteries should be reserved for emergency use only. Do not charge while using CR123A batteries! Using CR123A batteries will reduce available output levels and shorten runtime. For optimal performance, it is recommended to use a Fenix ARB-L18-1600 battery. Battery Replacement:
Unscrew the battery cover counter clockwise and insert the battery in accordance with the polarity marks, then screw the battery cover back on. Charging:
1. Open the anti-dust plug and connect the USB Type-C end of the charging cable to the charging port of the headlamp. 2. The indicator will display red while charging and will turn green when fully charged. 3. Once charging is completed, be sure to unplug the charging cable and close the anti-dust plug. 4. With the lamp turned off, the normal charging time of the included Fenix ARB-L18-1600 battery is approximately 2.5 hours from depleted to fully charged with a 5 V/1 A or above charging adapter. Note:
1. The headlamp can be operated while charging. 2. When the voltage level is lower than 3.3 V, only the Low output of each mode and the Flash output can be activated. Note: This only works with a Fenix ARB-L18-1600 battery. 3. Recharge a stored headlamp every four months to maintain the optimum performance of the battery.

With the lamp turned off, single click the switch to check the current battery level and the battery level indicator will last for 3 seconds.
Green light on: saturated 100% - 80% Green light flashes: sufficient 80% - 50% Red light on: poor 50% - 20% Red light flashes: critical 20% - 0%
*This only works with a Fenix ARB-L18-1600 battery. Intelligent Overheat Protection:
The headlamp will accumulate a lot of heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. When the headlamp reaches a temperature of 55°C/131°F or above, it will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 55°C/131°F, the headlamp will gradually recall the preset output level. Low-voltage Warning:
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the headlamp is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until the lowest output is reached. When this happens in the lowest output, the battery level indicator blinks red to remind users to recharge or replace the battery in a timely manner.
*This only works with a Fenix ARB-L18-1600 battery. Headband Assembly:
Notice: The headband is factory assembled and ready to use right out of the package. Adjust the headband by sliding the buckle to the required length. Usage and Maintenance:
â—ŽDisassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the headlamp and will void the warranty. â—ŽFenix recommends using an excellent quality battery. â—ŽIf the headlamp will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the lamp could be damaged by electrolyte leakage. â—ŽTake out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation. â—ŽLong-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the O-ring with an approved spare. â—ŽPeriodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the headlamp's performance as dirty contacts may cause the headlamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons: Problems:
A: Poor battery level. Solution: Recharge or replace the battery. B: The contact or contact point of the battery or headlamp is dirty. Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.
If the above methods don't work, please contact the distributor.
