The compact and powerful Fenix PD36R V2 upgrades the popular V1 with the addition of an extra 100 lumens output, a beam range increase from 283 to a far reaching 396 metres and a new 5 lumen eco mode with huge non stop runtime of 20 days. This new breed of compact tactical flashlight with 1700 lumen output takes advantage of the latest 21700 Li-ion battery technology and a deep reflector to offer extreme performance. With the new 21700 battery cell (supplied) having a capacity of 5000 mAh, Fenix PD36R V2 offers powerful light output and superior run times.
With 18w USB-C type charging, PD36R V2 can be fully charged from empty in just 2.5 hours using the supplied USB - USB-C charge cable and suitable mains / portable charger. The built in USB-C socket has an inner waterproofing which protects the light down to 2 meters depth even with the charge port cover removed.
Dual switch operation offers exceptional ergonomics, with the tail switch controlling momentary and constant on /off functions and the neck mounted mode button controlling brightness selection and strobe mode. The mode button features built in red and green LED's which indicate charging / charged status and battery level. The torch also features mode memory which re starts the light at your last used output level.

Operation
Fenix PD36R V2.0 Operation:
Switches:
The tail switch is the tactical switch, and the side switch is the functional switch.
On/Off:
Tap the tactical switch to momentarily turn on the flashlight, release it and the light will go out. Fully press the tactical switch to constantly turn on the light, press once again to turn off the light.
Mode switching:
With the light switched on, single click the functional switch to cycle through Turbo→Eco→Low→Med→High.
Strobe:
With the light switched on, press and hold the functional switch for 0.5 seconds to enter strobe, click once again to return to General mode.
Intelligent Memory Circuit:
The light memorises the last selected output excluding strobe. When turned on again the previously used output will be recalled.

Warning: It is strictly prohibited to use the 18650, CR123A, or 16340 battery. *21700 Li-ion batteries are powerful cells designed for commercial applications and must be treated with caution and handled with care. Only using quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion. Cell damage or short circuiting caused by using this type of battery is considered user induced damage and is not covered by any Fenix warranty or liability.
Battery Replacement:
Unscrew the light body and insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the light body back on.
Charging:
Open the anti-dust cover to reveal the charging port, then connect the USB Type-C end of the charging cable to the flashlight. The indicator will display red while charging, and will turn to green when fully charged. Once charging is completed, be sure to close the anti-dust cover.
Note:
The normal charging time of the included Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 rechargeable battery is approximately 2.5 hours from depletion to fully charged with an 18 W or higher-power fast charging adapter. Recharge a stored light every four months to maintain optimum performance of the battery. Only Eco output can be operated while charging.
Note: This feature only works with a Fenix ARB-L21 Series 21700 battery.
Battery level indication:
Each time the light is turned on, the battery level indicator will automatically display the battery status for 3 seconds.
Green light on: saturated 100% - 85% Green light flashes: sufficient 85% - 50% Red light on: poor 50% - 25% Red light flashes: critical 25% - 1% Note: This feature only works with a Fenix ARB-L21 Series 21700 battery.
Intelligent Overheat Protection:
The flashlight will accumulate a lot of heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C/140°F or above, the light will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C/140°F, the light will gradually recall the standard output level.
Low-voltage Warning:
When the voltage level drops below 3.0 V, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Eco output is reached. When this happens in Eco output, the battery level indicator blinks red to remind you to replace or recharge the battery. To ensure normal use, the flashlight will not turn off automatically and will work till the battery level runs out. Note: This feature only works with a Fenix ARB-L21 Series 21700 rechargeable battery.
Usage and Maintenance:
◎Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty. ◎Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery. ◎If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion. ◎Unscrew the light body half a turn or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation. ◎Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare. ◎Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp's performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
Problems:
A: Poor battery level. Solution: Replace or recharge the battery (Ensure the battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications). B: The threads, PCB board contact or other contacts are dirty. Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.
