Fenix HP16R is a versatile, light weight 1250 lumen outdoor head torch that is ideal for work, walking, climbing, camping, running and every day use. HP16R is powered by the supplied 3000 mAh lithium polymer battery or can use 4 x regular AA alkaline or AA / NiMH rechargeable batteries. This powerful Fenix head torch features 3 beams with a choice of lighting from low level to high power, near or far.
Main and flood beams feature their own independent switches and can be used individually or combined to provide the perfect light setting for any task. The primary beam with its spotlight and spill lighting, illuminates both near and far simultaneously, avoiding trip hazards when walking or running. Both beams can be used together, combining the close-in flood beam with extra reach from the main beam to reduce the need to regularly adjust your lighting in mixed environments. The secondary 5 lumen red flood is ideal for map reading and protecting your night vision when only a little light is needed. All LED's feature a memory mode that will activate the light in your last used setting, ideal for sensitive environments.
The Fenix HP16R head unit features a die cast aluminium main body with internal heat sink, transferring heat from the LED to the large surface area outer casing for efficient cooling and long service life at high power settings. The head unit weighs only 75 grams, with a separate, light weight rear mounted battery box for even weight distribution and comfortable wear over long periods.
The battery box features a modern USB-C socket to charge the supplied Li-Po battery in just 3 hours, using your 2A mobile phone charger or similar. If power runs out, simply lift the quick release aluminium clasp to open the battery door, remove the Li-Po battery and insert 4 x universally available AA batteries and keep your adventure going.

1. It is strictly prohibited to charge non-rechargeable batteries. 2. Recharge a stored headlamp every four months to maintain optimal Li-polymer battery performance. 3. If the lamp will not be used for an extended period, remove the AA batteries from the lamp in case of damage by electrolyte leakage.
Battery Replacement:
1. Pull latch to open the battery cover. 2. Insert the battery/batteries in accordance with the polarity marks. 3. Replace the battery cover and fasten the latch.
Charging:
The included Li-polymer battery pack can be charged via the headlamp. It is strictly prohibited to charge non-rechargeable AA (NI-MH/Alkaline )batteries via the headlamp. Uncover the anti-dust cap of the battery case and plug the USB Type-C side of the charging cable into the charging port of the battery case. The indicator on the battery case will display red while charging, and will turn to green when fully charged. Replace the anti-dust cap to ensure waterproof and dustproof ability. The normal charging time of the Fenix ARB-LP3000 Li-polymer battery is about 3 hours with the lamp being switched off.
Battery Level Indication:
With the lamp switched off, single click either of the switches to check the battery status, the indicator will last for 3 seconds. Green light on: saturated 100% - 85% Green light flashes: sufficient 85% - 50% Red light on: poor 50% - 25% Red light flashes: critical 25% - 1% Note: This only works with Fenix ARB-LP3000 Li-polymer battery.
Intelligent Overheat Protection:
The lamp will accumulate a lot of heat when used relatively high output levels for extended periods. When the lamp reaches a temperature of 65°C or above, the lamp will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 65°C, it will then allow the user for the reselection of the modes.
Low-voltage Warning:
When the voltage level drops below the pre-set level, the headlamp is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Low output is reached. When this happens in Low output mode, the battery level indicator blinks to remind you to timely recharge or replace the battery. Note: This only works with Fenix ARB-LP3000 Li-polymer battery.
Headband Assembly:
1. The headband is factory assembled by default. 2. Adjust the headband by sliding the buckle to required length.
Usage and Maintenance:
Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the lamp and will void the warranty. Fenix recommends using an excellent quality Fenix battery. If the lamp will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the lamp could be damaged by electrolyte leakage. Lock the lamp or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation. Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the lamp's performance as dirty contacts may cause the lamp to flicker, shine intermittently or even fail to illuminate for the following reasons:
Problem:
A: The battery needs replacing. Solution: Replace battery (Ensure battery is inserted according to the manufacturer’s specifications). B: The contact point or contact of the battery or headlamp is dirty. Solution: Clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.
If the above methods don't work, please contact the distributor.
